BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF CENTRAL MASS/METROWEST APPOINTS MAURICE J. BOISVERT AS INTERIM CEO
Maurice “Moe” Boisvert, L.I.C.S.W., President and Chief Executive Officer of Y.O.U. Inc. Emeritus, was the very first employee hired by the board of directors back in 1971. For more than 40 years, Boisvert provided the vision and leadership required to meet the ever-changing needs of children and families. As President and CEO, Boisvert lead the organization in the delivery of a broad range of therapeutic, educational and residential services through more than 50 programs with a budget of 37.5 million dollars and a talented staff of over 700 professionals. He is extremely proud of the agency’s staff members who consistently receive extremely high ratings in customer surveys.
A liscensed social worker, Boisvert received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Assumption College and his Masters of Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Recently, he was also awarded an Honarary Doctorate Degree in Humanities from Assumption College. Moe has published numerous articles in a variety of professional journals and has presented at a wide variety of professional conferences, including the annual conference of the Child Welfare League of America. In addition, Boisvert is an adjunct professor at Assumption College and Clark University, and is currently teaching at Boston College Graduate School of Social Work.
A community activist, Boisvert has served on numerous committees and boards and as a valued advisor to countless other organizations. Currently, he is serving on the boards of the Hanover Theatre, Sailing Heals, the Fairlawn Foundation, and the Quinsigamond Community College Foundation Board.
Boisvert lives in Shrewsbury with his wife, Pam. They have four grown daughters, and he is the #1 “pepe” and frequent babysitter for his twelve grandchildren.
